We met Bryan at his campsite and followed him up the mountain to the mine. I was a little apprehensive, and I won't lie, underprepared. Pro tip: Never leave without your gloves, and get the nice rubber coated ones. The shards of quarts were razor sharp. Luckily Bryan gave us his extra gloves before my already bloody fingers were torn to shreds. I don't mean to sound like a cry baby or anything, but seriously, if you're gonna do this bring your gloves!

The location was incredible. This was the first find of the day. It shined up at me from a spot not too far from where we parked the truck. We continued to find other smaller points as we carefully made our way down the loose rock, into the pit.

Bryan was a great host. He was super friendly and knew exactly where and how to dig for the best results. Like every other crystal lover, we'd been watching his Youtube episodes for a while now, so we knew what an awesome opportunity we had to find specimens that had previously been out of our collecting ability. I'm not saying that we've never found anything good, but a site that's been excavated, with a guide that could seemingly find crystals blindfolded, was a game changer!
